Serving in: Pikangikum

Currently a candidate with Living Hope Native Ministries

Marcus grew up on the Dene Tha reservation in Northern Alberta. Being able to intern and come serve full time with the help of On Eagles Wings. Marcus is joining Nick and Colleen in their ministry in the northern community of Pikangikum. Having a heart to grow with and live life with the people of Pikangikum, young and old. This young man has a heart to see the young people realizing they are made for more in Christ and walking and following Him. Marcus is participating in the Christian Ed classes, helping run a drop-in youth center called Nightlight, and serve in the church.

“As I go on to help and do life with the people of Pikangikum I see myself, knowing and seeing some of the ways I’ve grown up on a reservation, that I’m here because of Jesus Christ, and that same power that saved me can save each and every person in Pikangikum and give hope with is desperately needed in this community.”

Prayer Requests

• The Lord opens a door, the Lord opens their hearts, and Lord open my mouth.
• To disciple and do life with the young people to encourage and lift up leaders for Him
• For strength and health, that it is not me doing the work but the work of God
• Prayer for connection with youth and older people in the community to find ways to serve and grow.
• Pray for the Hope which Jesus brings, that they would realize that hope is showing that something that looks like it can’t change, can change.
